2009-2010 Season Update
We hope you are having a fantastic summertime…! And now it’s time for another great football season with all of the action, drama and thrills that makes Tennessee football the best…!!! Are you excited??
Can the TN Titans build on their awesome defense, Kerry Collins’ experience and Chris Johnson’s speed for another magical season atop the AFC South? …If so, 2009 might be their year of destiny…
Can Lane Kiffen rally the UT Volunteers from the depths of the SEC and show the world (and Florida) not to mess with the Big Orange Machine…? It’s payback time!
All these questions and many more will be answered in the next few months! …So dig up your football t-shirts, let’s get ready to rock and roll…!
TENNESSEE TITANS BAR UPDATE:
NFL KICK-OFF TITANS PARTY:
MARK YOUR CALENDARS!!! - Thursday night, Sept. 10 is the first game of the NFL regular season… and it’s the TENNESSEE TITANS VS. PITTSBURGH STEELERS! Talk about an epic showdown… The Titans steamrolled the superbowl champs in the regular season last year (Big Al didn’t even play that game)… So can the Titans do it again in a town that’s all fired up because we stomped on their little yellow dish towel? YES, I THINK SO!!
This game will be our season kick-off party at Side Bar, so please stop by and enjoy the game… and celebrate a new season and a new beginning! There will also be drink specials for everyone, too. Plus, let’s meet all of the 100+ Titans fans who came out of the woodwork for the Baltimore playoff game last year… where did you guys come from! This year, the Titans are ready to roll…!!! Watch out, AFC.

Rory Douglas, the web guru, has created a BRAND NEW WEBSITE for the Tennessee / NYC Sports Group… It’s a work in progress, but it’s chock full of awesome pictures, fans of the week, plays of the week, team blogs, schedules and lots of other info! So high-tail it over there and bookmark it please, so that one day we can leave this “meet-up.com site” forever!

TITANS-JETS GAME (TAIL-GATING INFO!!):
Hey, at least 10 of us are heading to Giants Stadium for the TN Titans - NY Jets game on Sunday, Sept. 27 at 1:00pm (Section 318, row 26)… If you happen to be going to the game, we’ll have a minivan with a grill in the parking lot… and we’ll be tailgating “Tennessee Style” before the game! Feel free to join us for some pre-game socializing… Let us know and we’ll bring some extra burgers and beers!
TITANS HALL OF FAME GAME (SUNDAY NIGHT - TONIGHT!!!):
Don’t forget, the TN Titans and the Buffalo Bills will face off as the preseason opener tonight on NBC at 8:00pm EST. Not only is this is a repeat of the Music City Miracle teams, it will be the world’s first look at T.O. as a Buffalo Bill, and I imagine the NFL will also have something to commemorate Steve McNair… It’s probably a little too late to organize a bar event, but if you want to watch it with a crew, we’ll be having 10 ppl or so over to watch the game and cooking dinner for people around 7:30pm, so send us an email or text (212) 920-1695.
I can’t wait to see the unveiling of the “contract-year” LenDale White!!
OTHER TENNESSEE FOOTBALL GAMES:
The UT VOLS bar is switching organizers and moving to a new location this year… As soon as we hear the details of the new bar, we’ll fill you in! Also, Rory and I aren’t sure of any places to watch University of Memphis and Vandy football games, but if you know of any, let us know!

Eventually, we would like to move this group away from meet-up.com and onto a regular email-list (It would be a lot less hassle, and plus it would save Rory and I $79/year)… Our OWN Titans email list is now 99 people strong (3 yrs ago is was only 15 ppl), but there are a whole lot of people who have joined us through meet-up.com that we don’t have email addresses for… So send them to us if you like, and we’ll add them to our list! We promise not to send you spam…!
